Jonathan McKim, AIA, NCARB, CDT: I am a nuts and bolts architect working within the A/E industry for nearly 20-years after starting out as an intern in a facilities design management office in 1998. I prefer to take a laid-back approach that puts clients at ease during what can be a stressful period in their lives. I hold a five-year professional bachelors of architecture from Temple University, I’m a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), licensed to practice architecture in the states of California and Arizona, a member of the Golden Gate Business Association (GGBA), and I currently live and work in a magical city that I truly love, San Francisco, California.
Consultant Architect: As a certified LGBTBE through the NGLCC, I focus my practice on designing prototype buildings and offer site adaptations to NGLCC Corporate Partners. Furthermore, I provide consultant architectural services by partnering with other architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) clients can meet their target goals under California’s General Order 156. I do this by offering a full range of architectural services including design, peer reviews, facilities assessments, construction documentation, QA/QC services, field work, and construction administration.
Design Competitions: My design competition entries allow me the freedom to explore new avenues within the art that makes up my profession. I am currently entering two competitions, one is for a new hotel tower and the other is for a new academic building at a university in California.
